Gameplay Programmer

Do you love games? Of course you do!! Do you love making games? Hell ya you do!!! Do you care deeply about how a game feels and plays? Do you pride yourself in being able to program things that just feel great? Do you have the instincts necessary to critically evaluate your code, or someone else's code, to improve it from good to great? If so, this job is for you!

Responsibilities:
  • Programming systems for characters, vehicles, weapons, AI, HUD and other core gameplay systems.
  • Supporting network synchronization and online gameplay for the behaviors and systems you develop.
  • Creating and maintaining clean, stable interfaces from core gameplay systems to high-level game script (such as LUA).
  • Work closely with the Game Director and Game Design Team.
  • Evaluating and integrating 3rd party technology when required. 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or demonstrable equivalent experience. 
  • Proficient in C++, with a minimum of 5 years programming experience.
  • Proficient in basic 3D linear algebra (projections, transformations, etc). 
  • Enjoys iteration and refinement.
  • Solid instincts for game design and "fun".
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code. 
  • Ability to estimate scheduling, and work to a deadline. 
  • Self-motivated, with excellent communication and creative problem solving skills. 
  • Collaborative attitude and a willingness to accept and give constructive criticism. 
It’s an extra bonus if you have any of the following, but these are not necessarily required:
  • One or more shipped titles, taken from pre-production to "Gold".
  • Current console programming experience (PS3, X360).
  • Network game state synchronization experience.
  • A good understanding of practical game design.
  • GUI programming experience.
  • Experience with concurrent programming.
  • Experience with LUA.
